Green Knights headed back to NCAA Div. III Frozen Four

March 13, 2011 By Bill Scott

The St. Norbert College Green Knights are headed back to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four Ice Hockey Championships.

The top-ranked Knights broke open a close game with a 3-goal third period and blanked Hamline University 4-0 before 1,626 fans in an NCAA Quarterfinal game at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center in Green Bay on Saturday night.

St. Norbert advances to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four for the seventh time in nine seasons.  The win also avenges an earlier loss to the Pipers, 4-3 back on Nov. 5.

St. Norbert College (23-4-1) faces Norwich (22-5-3) in one Friday semifinal.  Oswego State (23-4) faces Adrian College (24-3-1) in the other with the winners to meet in Saturday’s championship.
