Hockey Badgers season is likely over

March 14, 2011 By Bill Scott

With the series tied at 1-1, the Wisconsin Badgers fell to Colorado College 2-1 on Sunday night, giving the Tigers the game clinching win in the best 2 of 3 series.  It advances them to the WCHA’s Final Five tournament this weekend in St. Paul.

The Badgers (21-16-4) late season collapse will likely cost them a spot in the NCAA Tournament, which means their season would be over.

Craig Smith scored the lone goal for the Badgers, a power play tally in the closing moments of the second period.

Bret Bennett made 24 saves in goal in the loss for Wisconsin.
