Huebsch responds to accusations of “power grabs”

March 29, 2011 By Jackie Johnson

Milwaukee Democrat Tamara Grigsby, a member of the Joint Finance Committee, questions Department of Administration Secretary Mike Huebsch (R-West Salem) about the removal of legislative oversight for things such as modifications to energy policy and medical assistance.

“I think that this particular administration has been engaged in what I consider to be … significant power grabs.”

Grigsby further questions Walker’s Administration Secretary about removing the duties from the office of the Secretary of State. “How do you think that that’s legally appropriate?”

Huebsch says, in order to understand, one has to look at the law. “You may not like that law; it doesn’t change the fact that it’s the law.”
