The state’s largest public employee union charges Governor Scott Walker is engaging in unfair labor practices. Marty Beil is head of the Wisconsin State Employees Union, which wants the state labor relations board to find Walker in violation of state labor laws. “We have to exercise our rights under the law, so we filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission, saying that the state has failed to bargain in good faith with us,” Beil said.
That as Walker continues to push for his budget repair bill which strips many public employees of most of their collective bargaining rights. “He has said many times publicly, on television and in newspapers, that he’s not going to bargain with us because it takes to too long and he has no money,” said Beil. “This ought to be a cut and dried case. He has been very public about his refusal to exercise his duties and bargain with us.”
