WIAA Girl’s State Hoops Tournament continues

The Division 4 and 5 finals in the WIAA Girl’s State Basketball Tournament are set while the Division 1 field is finally locked in. 

Super Tuesday finally wrapped up Thursday night.  Eau Claire North knocked out Appleton East 46-41 in Stevens Point.  The Huskies will take on Nicolet tonight at 6:35.  Nicolet got past De Pere 53-47 in Oshkosh.  The other semifinal puts Pius XI against Middleton.

The Division 3 semifinals open things up today at the Kohl Center.  At 9:05 its Altoona and Prairie du Chien with Kewaunee and Dominican to follow.  New London and Milton open the D2 action at 1:35 with Luxemburg-Casco and Whitefish Bay to follow.

In Division 4, Regis defeated Westby 57-71 in overtime to advance to Saturday’s championship game.  Regis will take on Algoma.  Algoma defeated Oostburg 58-46.

Newman Catholic took care of Black Hawk 64-40 in one D5 semifinal.  In the other, River Ridge squeaked past Prentice 43-42 in OT.
