Lawrence hires new women’s basketball coach

April 12, 2011 By Bill Scott

Lawrence University named Tara Carr its new women’s basketball coach on Monday.  Carr becomes the ninth coach of the Vikings.

Carr started her basketball coaching career at Ohio Northern University.  She then served as the assistant basketball coach at Saginaw Valley State University (2001-04).

Carr comes to Lawrence after working outside of coaching in recent years.  She has served as the campus director and adjunct instructor in business management at the Beloit campus of Concordia University of Wisconsin since April 2007.

Lawrence has three conference championships and a NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in its 35 seasons of women’s basketball.  The Vikings have posted 23 seasons of .500 or better, but has struggled in recent seasons.
