Mickelson heads to Masters with momentum

Phil Mickelson captured the PGA’s 2011  Houston Open on Sunday to jump to third in the world heading into his Masters title defense.

Mickelson shot a 63 on Saturday and closed with a 7-under par 65 on Sunday, finishing 3-shots better than Chris Kirk and Scott Verplank.

Madison’s Steve Stricker fired a final round 3-under par 69 and finished in a tie for fourth, seven shots off the lea

Mickelson will be shooting for his fourth green jacket when the 2011 Masters gets underway at Augusta on Thursday.
