Brewers beat Rockies despite just 2-hits

May 23, 2011 By Bill Scott

It’s not everyday you win a Major League baseball game with just 2-hits.  That’s exactly what happened to the Milwaukee Brewers.

Colorado’s Ubaldo Jimenez held the Brewers to just 2-hits, but he walked 5 and hit 1 Brewers batter as well.

Ryan Braun drove in a pair of runs with a triple in the 3rd, then scored on the same play after a throwing error.

Jimenez threw the 7th complete game of his career, but fell to 0-4 on the season.  Randy Wolf worked 7-innings to pick up his 4th win (4-4).

The Brewers swept the 3-game series from the Rockies.  John Axford came on to save it in the 9th, his 3rd straight and 12th overall on the season.

The Brewers open a 3-game series against the Washington Nationals tonight.
