Four state teams open NCAA Div. 3 baseball playoffs Wednesday

Four Wisconsin teams received berths in the 55-team NCAA Division III baseball tournament and rivals Stevens Point and Whitewater were both placed in the Midwest Regional which opens Wednesday at UW-Whitewater.

Stevens Point won the WIAC regular season and is seeded No. 1.  They’ll face Aurora at 10am Wednesday morning.  UW-Whitewater is the No. 2 seed and will open against 5th seeded St. Thomas at 1pm on Wednesday.

Carthage College and Ripon College were placed in the Central Regional at Illinois-Wesleyan.  Ripon faces top seeded Coe at noon and Carthage takes on Buena Vista at 3:30pm on Wednesday.
