Greinke wins his Miller Park debut

May 10, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers needed a shot in the arm and they got it from starting pitcher Zach Greinke.

Greinke was making his second start for the Brewers and his first at Miller Park.  He struck out 9 hitters over 6-innings in a 4-3 win over the San Diego Padres.  Greinke held the Padres to 5-hits and 2 earned runs without a walk in a 89-pitch effort.

Rickie Weeks drove in a pair of runs for the Brewers with a rbi single and a home run in the 7th inning.

John Axford came on to work the 9th inning and earn his 6th save.  Game two of the series is tonight.
