NCAA Division 3 baseball tournament is underway

Three of the four Wisconsin teams in the NCAA Division 3 baseball regionals earned opening day wins on Wednesday. 

In the Midwest Regional, top seeded Stevens Point scored on a suicide squeeze in the 10th to beat Aurora 3-2.  The Pointers (33-8) on the season, will face St. Scholastica at 1pm this afternoon.  Second seeded UW-Whitewater earned a 3-2 win over St. Thomas and will face Hamline at 4pm today.

In the Central Regional, 6th seeded Ripon College picked up a 3-2 win over top-seeded Coe in Bloomington, Illinois.  Ripon faces Thomas More at 3:30 today. 

Second seeded Carthage College suffered an 8-1 loss to Buena Vista and will face Coe in an elimination game at noon today.
