Stricker falters on final day at “The Players Championship”

May 16, 2011 By Bill Scott

Steve Stricker started the day in the hunt at the PGA Tour’s “Players Championship” in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.  But Stricker shot a final round 1-over par 73 and finished 5-shots behind champion K.J. Choi.

Choi beat David Toms in a playoff to win the event on Sunday.  Toms 3-putted the Island green on the first playoff hole to give Choi the title.
