Vigilance urged, following Bin Laden’s death

May 2, 2011 By WRN Contributor

A state military official cautions vigilance in the wake of the death of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden. Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls is also a Colonel with the Wisconsin Army National Guard, serving as Chief of Staff for the Joint Staff. Nehls says there was a lot of chatter throughout military channels Sunday, but says he didn’t dream it was about attacking the terrorist leader.

Just before the September 11th, 2001 attacks, Nehls was coming off a lengthy tour on the Governor’s Homeland Security Council as a Weapons of Mass Destruction Domestic Terrorism Officer.

Now – as then – he cautions that we need to remain vigilant as terrorism will continue to be a threat.

Nehls also says remember those who’ve been involved so far. “I think we need to think about the thousands that have given their lives since on 9/11 and since 9/11 in pursuit of this bad man.”
