Brewers fall to Chicago; head to Boston

June 17, 2011 By Bill Scott

Zack Greinke gets roughed up by the Chicago bats and winds as the Brewers fall to the Cubs 12-7 Thursday afternoon in Wrigley.  The Brewers still sit in first in the NL Central as St. Louis lost in Washington.

Greinke lasted just 5 1/3 innings surrendering 8-runs (6-earned) on 8-hits.  He did fan 10-batters.  Still, Greinke just didn’t have it…

With the winds blowing out the way they were, baseballs were zooming out of the yard.  Ryan Braun (15) and George Kottaras (1) each went deep for the Crew while Alfonso Soriano (13), Calros Pena (10) and  Kosuke Fukudome (3) hit long-balls for the Cubs.

Some questions have risen by fans to why the Brewers seem to beat the good teams but lose to the bad teams.  Braun isn’t buying that…

The Brewers head to Boston for their first inter-league series of the season.  Shawn Marcum and John Lackey meet in game 1 tonight which is slated for a 6:10 first pitch.
