Ryan Braun extended his hitting streak to 17 games as the Milwaukee Brewers swept the Minnesota Twins with a 6-2 win on Sunday at Miller Park. It gave the Brewers a 3-game sweep of the Twins, who have lost 5-straight after winning eight in-a-row.
Braun clubbed a two run homer in the 5th after Nyjer Morgan’s rbi-single that scored Jonathan Lucroy got the ball rolling. Lucroy, who entered the home stand just 3 for his last 30 at the plate, rebounded at home to go 8 for 17 on the homestand, including a triple and double on Sunday.
Brewers starter Chris Narveson got plenty of support to earn his 5th win
(5-5). Narveson also collected a hit, helping the bottom three players in the order go 6 for 9.
The Brewers also hit in the clutch. Five of their six runs were scored with two outs.
The Twins have dropped 5-straight after winning 8 in-a-row previously. The Brewers take today off and will travel to New York to open a 3-game series with the Yankees on Tuesday night.
