Morgan & Fielder lead Brewers to comeback win (AUDIO)

June 9, 2011 By Bill Scott

Nyjer Morgan didn’t even know he won the game with his 9th inning walk off hit.  Morgan’s 2-out, run-scoring double in the 9th plated Craig Counsell from second and sent the Milwaukee Brewers to a come-from-behind 7-6 win at Miller Park.  Morgan admitted afterwards that he thought the game was only in the 8th inning.

The Brewers led 2-1 heading to the 8th.  But Kameron Loe promptly gave up 5-runs to the Mets and things looked bleak with the Brewers down 6-2.  But the Brewers didn’t give up.  Prince Fielder tied the game 6-6 with the second of his two, 2-run homers.  Fielder now has 17 home runs and 54 rbi’s on the season.  Fielder moved past Gorman Thomas into 3rd place on the Brewers all-time home run list (209).

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said his teams comeback win is a signature win.

Brewers starter Randy Wolf allowed just 1-run, pitching into the 7th.  He didn’t get the win, but he’s glad his team did.

The win goes to John Axford who pitched the 9th.  The Brewers and Mets are even 1-1 in the series with the rubber game tonight at Miller Park.
