Pujols is out in St. Louis

June 20, 2011 By Bill Scott

St. Louis Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a fractured left forearm.  Medical tests revealed the injury today.

Pujols was hurt on a play at first base in the 6th inning of yesterday’s win over the Kansas City Royals and immediately went to the ground in pain.

Pujols was just starting to heat up after a slow start, hitting .279 on the year.

The Cardinals loss just might be the Milwaukee Brewers gain.  There’s a lot of baseball left to play this season, but Pujols injury is no doubt a big loss for the Cardinals, as well as a chance for the Brewers to perhaps create some separation from the Cardinals atop the NL Central.
