A number of southern Wisconsinites holed in their basement last night as thunderstorms hit the area last night, along with a possible low-level tornado. Winds gusted to 80-miles-an-hour near Beloit. A funnel cloud was spotted southwest of Madison, while hail fell in most of southwest Wisconsin.
Todd Pritchard of Wisconsin Emergency Management says they did not receive any requests for assistance but will be contacting county officials today to offer aid.
Pritchard says damage was most severe in Dane, Green and Grant counties, mostly involving downed trees and power lines.
