Braun, Fielder and Weeks voted All-Star Starters

July 4, 2011 By Bill Scott

For the first time in the Milwaukee Brewers 43-year franchise history, 3-players will start an All-Star game.  Ryan Braun, Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder  were voted by the fans to represent the National League as starters in the July 12th Mid-Summer Classic from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

Braun was the top vote getter in the National Leauge and will make his 4th consecutive start in the outfield.  His consecutive start streak is a Brewer record.  Prince Fielder will make his 3rd All-Star appearance and 2nd start at first base.  Second Baseman Rickie Weeks used a late charge in the fan vote to obtain his first career All-Star nod. No other Brewers were named to the game.
