Fielder adds Weeks to the NL Home Run Derby Team

July 6, 2011 By Bill Scott

When Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder was named the Captain of the Nation League Home Run Derby Team, Milwaukee second baseman said he would participate if asked.  That wish came true Tuesday for Weeks.

Fielder chose Weeks along with Dodgers Of Matt Kemp and Cardinals OF Matt Holiday to represent the NL in Monday’s Home Run Derby at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ.  Fielder won the event in 2009.

As for the American League, Captain David Ortiz of Boston picked Red Sox teammate Adrian Gonzalez, Toronto third baseman Jose Bautista, and Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.  Ortiz won the competition last season.
