Hundreds remain without power

July 5, 2011 By WRN Contributor

A severe storm rolled through Burnett County Friday night leaving thousands without power. Northwestern Wisconsin Electric media relations director John Richards said initial estimates were that 12,000 customers had their power knocked out. Approximately 3500 customers were still without power as of noon Tuesday. Richards said it will take a while for everyone to have power. “We still have some customers out in the Gransburg and Siren areas and the outlying areas. Those we expect to have back up by the end of this week. As you go north, it might get into next week for some of those customers.”
