State Senators facing recall and their challengers will be defending their stances at forums sponsored by Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Groups and the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans.
Billy Feitlinger, Wisconsin Alliance’s Executive Director, says they are especially concerned with issues that affect aging Wisconsinites such as affordability for prescription drugs, Medicaid funding and keeping pensions intact.
The attendees can also learn where candidates stand on contentious issues such as tax cuts and increases, corporate spending on political campaigns and voter ID requirements.
The first forum will be July 28 with Sen. Randy Hopper (R-Fond du Lac) and challenger Jessica King. The 10th Senate District is the only district where candidates are not gathering for a forum.
In less than two weeks six Republican Senators face a recall election. The following week voters will head to polls to decide the fate of two Democratic incumbents.
