Sampson leaves Bucks for Rockets

July 13, 2011 By Bill Scott

Milwaukee Bucks assistant coach Kelvin Sampson is leaving the Bucks to become the lead assistant with the Houston Rockets under coach Kevin McHale.

Sampson served as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks during the past three seasons under head coach Scott Skiles.

Sampson had interviewed for the Rockets’ head coaching job that eventually went to McHale.  He’s still a candidate for the Detroit Pistons coaching position, which hasn’t been filled yet.
