Brewers open series at Cincinnati tonight

September 16, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Milwaukee Brewers, after an off day yesterday, open a 6-game road trip tonight with the first of a three game series against the Cincinnati Reds.

Lefty Randy Wolf (12-9, 3.44 ERA) faces Cincinnati’s Bronson Arroyo (8-11, 5.28 ERA) in the pitching matchup.

The Brewers have dropped 6 of their last 8 games and have a 5 1/2 game lead on second place St. Louis in the National League Central race with 12-games left to go in the regular season.

The goal is to start getting things turned around, to gain some momentum heading into the playoffs.  They’re just 1-5 at Great American Ballpark this season.  The Brewers are just 5-8 against the Reds overall this season.
