September 23, 2011 By Bill Scott

Yovani Gallardo shoots for his 18th win of the season tonight when the

Milwaukee Brewers open a 3-game series against the Florida Marlins.  Gallardo has won his last two starts, wins over the Phillies and Reds.  He struck out a career high 13 in his last outing.

The Brewers magic number to clinch is 2, which means a Brewer win and a St. Louis Cardinal defeat and the Brewers would wrap up their first division title at Miller Park tonight.

Chris Volstad pitches for the Marlins tonight.  He hasn’t won a game since July 10th.
