Packers close out preseason against Chiefs tonight

September 1, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Green Bay Packers wrap up the preseason tonight by hosting the Kansas City Chiefs at Lambeau Field.  The starting jobs have all been locked down for at least a week, leaving a handful of backup openings yet to be decided.

The Packers won’t play their starters very long at all and some first-teamers will be spectators from the start.

Decisions need to be made at almost every position.  In fact, the punter and kicker positions are set, and it appears that the Packers will go into the season with three quarterbacks.  After that, there’s backup roster spots that have to be decided.

Following tonight’s game, the Packers have to go from 80 to 53 players with the deadline set for 5pm Saturday.
