Packers’ fans kickoff the season

70,555 is the announced attendance at tonight’s game between the Packers and Saints, but the area around Lambeau Field kicked off

Packer fans Celebrate!

the season with several thousand more fans that didn’t even have a ticket to the big game.   Many fans came out to enjoy the pregame concert and other festivities, sponsored by the NFL.

The area pictured was closed off to the public for the last week as the NFL and the Packers prepared for today’s celebration, welcoming football back for another season.

The offseason was full of labor talk and no football.  Fans in Green Bay celebrated the return of the game as the 2011 season started without delay.
