Former state lawmaker arrested

October 17, 2011 By WRN Contributor

A former state lawmaker is being accused of being intoxicated while behind the wheel. Former state Senator Randy Hopper was arrested over the weekend for allegedly driving drunk.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department says a call came in around 5:30 Sunday evening from someone who reported seeing a black Suburban on Highway 151 that was “all over the road.”

Hopper, who was one two Republican state Senators removed from office this summer during a series of recall elections, was taken into custody by police and then released this morning.
