Full WIAA playoff football field still delayed

October 18, 2011 By Bill Scott

Division’s 3 through 7 finally were announced last night, but a pending legal matter has delayed the release of the Division 1 & 2 playoff brackets until today, according to the WIAA.

Shorewood/Milwaukee Messmer took the WIAA to court over not being allowed to participate in this season’s playoffs.

Shorewood/Milwaukee Messmer dropped out of the Woodland Conference in 2007 to become independent, but WIAA rules stipulate that a team that voluntarily withdraws from a conference is ineligible for the playoffs for four years.
