October 21, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Wisconsin Badger men’s hockey team captured its first WCHA victory of the season, knocking off No. 5/6 North Dakota 5-3 at the Kohl Center on Friday night.

Landon Peterson picked up his first career win in goal for the Badgers (2-3-0, 1-2-0 WCHA) with a 24-save effort.

Mark Zengerle (1g, 1a) and Tyler Barnes (2a) had multi-point games for the Badgers.

North Dakota (2-2-0, 0-1-0 WCHA) lost its first league game of the season.  The two teams plan the final game of the series at the Kohl Center on Saturday night.
