Chances are, wide receiver Jordy Nelson could have played out this season
with the Green Bay Packers and found a deal on the free agent market more lucrative than the 3-year, $13.35 million contract extension he signed last Saturday. But Nelson said money isn’t what drives him.

Nelson said it’s great to have many of their receivers locked up. The Packers have one of the top offenses in all of football and it looks like they’ll maintain a winning formula for years to come.
Nelson’s new deal covers 3-years and takes him through 2014. He’ll still be right in the middle of his prime, which means this most likely isn’t the last big contract he signs.
Nelson currently has 15 receptions for 292 yards and three touchdowns in the first four games of the season.
