Badgers’ Taylor adds Naismith list to preseason resume

November 8, 2011 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger guard Jordan Taylor added the Naismith Trophy watch list

Jordan Taylor

to his lengthy list of 2011-12 preseason honors.  Taylor has already been tabbed a preseason All-American by the Associated Press, Blue Ribbon Yearbook and Athlon Magazine as well as named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top-50.

The watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2012 college basketball season.  The Naismith Trophy will be awarded at the 2012 NCAA Men’s Final Four in New Orleans.

Taylor is one of seven Big Ten players on the 2011-12 Naismith preseason list, including Aaron Craft, William Buford and Jared Sullinger of Ohio State, Draymond Green of Michigan State, Tim Hardaway Jr. of Michigan and Robbie Hummel of Purdue.

Wisconsin has now had four players included on the Naismith preseason list over the last six years:  Kammron Taylor and Alando Tucker in 2007, and Jon Leuer in 2010 and Taylor this season.
