Horizon League votes to extend aid to athletes

November 8, 2011 By Bill Scott

Horizon League athletic directors have unanimously approved a change in League operating regulations that clarify the implementation of the NCAA decision to add a $2,000 cost of attendance allowance to athletic grants-in-aid.

That means the Horizon League will add the $2,000 in scholarships for men’s and women’s basketball.

Horizon League commissioner Jon LeCrone said the decision to add $2,000 to full scholarships in other sports will be left to the individual institutions.

Wisconsin’s representation in the Horizon League is UW-Milwaukee and UW-Green Bay.
