Marquette edges Wisconsin in women’s hoops

November 16, 2011 By Bill Scott

The Wisconsin Badgers couldn’t hang on to a late lead (49-46) in the final two minutes and fell to Marquette 54-52 in women’s college basketball action in Milwaukee.

Sarina Simmons had a game-high 23 points for Marquette.  Morgan Paige had 16 to lead three Badgers in double figures.

Neither team shot it well.  The Badgers were 31% from the field and 28% from 3-point range.  Marquette hit 35% from the field and 20 percent from 3-point range.

The Badgers return home to host Washington State at the Kohl Center on Friday night.
