A Massachusetts tech firm will add 200 jobs in Wausau over the next three years. Collaborative Consulting will build an onshore software development and support center in central Wisconsin. President and CEO Bill Robichaud said he chose Wausau over at least seven other cities. He called Wausau a city that “typifies community spirit,” and one which “has taken up the challenge of what it will take to bring technical jobs back from overseas to the United States.”

Governor Scott Walker said the state gave more than $2-million in tax credits and job training credits to make the deal happen. The city has been working on the deal since June and will offer incentives for employees who buy or lease homes in Wausau. The company will scout a location for its new facility next week and hold a two-day hiring blitz at the local technical college. “Our value to the community here will provide longterm, highly desirable employment options, and extensive technology training,” said Robichaud.
