Chryst is headed for Pittsburgh

December 22, 2011 By Bill Scott

Wisconsin Badger offensive coordinator Paul Chryst is leaving Madison to

Paul Chryst

become the next head coach at the University of Pittsburgh.

The 2012 Rose Bowl will be Chryst’s last game as the Badgers offensive coordinator.  Wisconsin enters the Jan. 2 Rose Bowl against Oregon fourth nationally in scoring at 44.2 points per game.

Pittsburgh officials are expected to formally announce the hiring at a news conference later today.

Bret Bielema could look to offensive line coach Bob Bostad or tight ends coach Joe Rudolph as Wisconsin’s new Offensive Coordinator.

Chryst could also look to take one or both with him to Pittsburgh and give them the same opportunity.
