Ramirez signs on with Brewers for three years

The Milwaukee Brewers signed free agent third baseman Aramis Ramirez to a three-year deal with an option for 2015.  Ramirez passed his physical earlier in the day.

Ramirez hit .306 with 26 home runs and 93 rbi’s in 149 games with the Chicago Cubs last season.  He produced his ninth season with 25 or more home runs and his eighth season with 90 or more rbi’s. 

Ramirez owns a .284 career batting average with 315 HR and 1,122 rbi’s in 1,683 games.  He said it’s time to win a championship.

The Brewers traded Casey McGehee to the Pittsburgh Pirates to make room for Ramirez.  Ramirez said today he’s not concerned about Prince Fielder’s likely departure in free agency and a possible 50-game drug suspension facing Ryan Braun.
