Wisconsinites ‘thread through’ online searches

December 10, 2011 By Brian Moon

High tech gifts are big this year according to Google search results. The internet giant’s Retail Industry Director Dan Schock says that ranges from E-readers to kids’ versions of tablets.

As far as what Wisconsinites want, “Searches for sweaters are up about 150 percent since Thanksgiving.”

Meantime the economy is playing a factor. Nationwide Schock says searches for discounts, free shipping and coupons are up 50 percent nationwide from last year while searches on ways to make homemade gifts are up over 70 percent.

Additionally people are increasing using YouTube to get ideas about planning holiday parties.
