Badgers battle to beat Hoosiers in Madison

The 25th ranked Wisconsin Badgers earned their 5th straight Big Ten victory

and stayed within a 1/2 game of the conference leaders, knocking off #16 Indiana 57-50 at the Kohl Center on Thursday night.

Ben Brust led four Badgers in double figures with 13 points and center Jared Berggren had a career high 5 blocks in the win.  Berggren held Indiana’s Cody Zeller to 7-points, 8 below his average.

The Badgers shot just 39% as a team, but Ben Brust hit 4 of his 9 FG attempts and was 3 of 6 from distance.

Verdell Jones and Christian Watford had 12 points each to lead Indiana. 

The victory is the 9th in-a-row over Indiana.  The Badgers trail Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan by a half-game in the Big Ten standings.

Indiana fell to 4-5 in the Big Ten and 16-5 overall.  The Hoosiers are now 2-30 in Big Ten road games since Tom Crean took over.
