Fancy protesters hit Vos event

January 6, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A private home GOP political fundraiser leads to citations for protesters in a well-to-do Racine neighborhood. An existing ordinance in the City of Racine prohibits picketing outside a private residence, which is what police used in citing 17 people for their protest of the fundraiser hosted by a local industrialist for state Representative Robin Vos.

Police were called about attendees being harassed outside by protesters, who’d come to the normally quiet neighborhood in a rented limousine and formally dressed. They made a hasty departure in that same limo when pressed by reporters about their activity.

The almost $272 fine can be challenged by each in court February 1st.
