Beckum goes down with knee injury

February 6, 2012 By Bill Scott

Travis Beckum had just started coming on for the New York Giants, but he didn’t get to hang around long enough in Super Bowl XLVI

Travis Beckum

to make any kind of impact.

The Milwaukee native and former Wisconsin Badger standout, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the second quarter, ending his night early.  Beckum now has several months of rehab in front of him, which will likely cost him the entire next season.

Beckum’s season has been rather uneventful, but he had been used more in the playoffs, including as a split receiver.

The Giants beat the patriots 21-17 to win Super Bowl XLVI.
