Badgers fall in National Title game

The Wisconsin Badgers outshot Minnesota 42-25 but fell to the Gophers 4-2 in the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four Championship game in Duluth, Minn. on Sunday.

Stephanie McKeough and Brooke Ammerman scored for Wisconsin, but they couldn’t solve Gophers goaltender Nora Raty.  Raty made 40 saves, including 20 in the 3rd period.

Madison native Amanda Kessel scored for Minnesota (34-5-2). 

The top-ranked Badgers (33-5-2) were going for their record-tying fifth championship but fell short.
