Brookfield Central/East and Wausau West advance in State hockey

March 1, 2012 By Bill Scott

Brookfield Central/East fell behind 2-0 to Eau Claire Memorial in the first WIAA boys State Hockey Quarterfinal today.  But Brookfield answered with three straight goals to pull out a 3-2 win in overtime.

Brookfield Central/East advances to Friday night’s 6pm semifinal against Wausau West.  The Warriors are the defending state champs.  They knocked off Marquette 4-1 in the second quarterfinal of the afternoon session to advance into the semifinals

There’s two more quarterfinal games to go tonight.  At 6pm, Superior faces Green Bay Notre Dame.  Sparta and Verona will follow in the final game of the night at the Allient Energy Center.
