The deadline for getting your taxes in is coming up fast. State and federal taxes must be filed by April 17th this year, which is just three weeks from today.
Stephanie Marquis of the state Revenue Department says many people in Wisconsin have already completed the task. Of the estimated three million returns the state receives each year, over half of those are already in.

Marquis says nearly 90-percent of those turns have been turned in electronically. That number is expected to go down as we get closer to the deadline. The DOR estimates it will be closer to 80-percent at the end of tax season.
Most people who have already submitted their taxes are those who are owed money, with the average refund at about $680 right now.
