Former Bucks top pick retires

March 13, 2012 By Bill Scott

San Antonio Spurs point guard T.J. Ford announced his retirement on Monday following the latest scare to his surgically repaired spine, which once sidelined him for an entire NBA season.

Ford told reporters that the latest incident occurred March 7th while laying motionless on the court in a game against the Knicks.  Ford said he decided to walk away while he still had a chance.

The Milwaukee Bucks made Ford the 8th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft.  He also spent time with Toronto and Indiana before his final destination in San Antonio.
