Lucroy To Sign Extension…Crew Beats Indians

March 27, 2012 By Bill Scott

Reports say that the Brewers will give catcher Jonathan Lucroy a five year contract extension worth about $11 million dollars.  Last season was Lucroy’s first as the Crew’s full time catcher.  He hit .256 with 12 homers and 59 RBI in 136 games behind the plate.

The Brewers edged the Indians 6-5 on Monday afternoon in Cactus League action.  Nori Aoki had the game winning triple in the 9th for the Crew.  Aoki is one of the hottest players in the Cactus League going 11 for his last 17 at bats.  That’s a .647 clip.  Ryan Braun had 2 RBI in the win.  Chris Narveson gave up four runs and five hits in 6 and a third innings of work.  Yovani Gallardo gets the start this afternoon as the Brewers take onKansas City.
