Lucroy’s Deal Is Done

March 27, 2012 By Bill Scott

The Brewers made it official this afternoon, announcing that they had signed catcher Jonathan Lucroy to a multi-year contract extension.  The deal is for five years with a club option for 2017.  The 25-year-old hit .265 with 12 homers and 59 RBI in 2011.  That was his first full season in the big leagues.  Lucroy joins Ryan Braun, Yovani Gallardo, Rickie Weeks, and Corey Hart as home grown talents the team has been able to lock up with long-term deals.   The Brewers and Royals are playing this afternoon in Cactus League action.
