Neenah girl faces attempted homicide charges

March 5, 2012 By WRN Contributor

A 17-year-old Neenah girl is facing attempted homicide charges after police say she tried to run down two people with her car.

Neenah Police Chief Kevin Wilkinson says the incident took place around 7:45 Sunday evening when the suspect saw a 15-year-old girl and 18-year-old woman coming toward her car. Wilkinson says the driver came directly at them, forcing both to grab on to the hood of the vehicle.

Wilkinson says the driver started weaving the vehicle to “shake them off.” The 15-year-old fell off after a half-block, but the 18-year-old held on a while longer before also falling. Wilkinson says the girl has minor injuries, but the 18-year-old suffered a severe head injury.

Police say the victim and the suspect knew each other through school. Investigators want to know what kind of relationship they had and if there were any feuds.

Neenah police are asking prosecutors to charge the 17-year-old with two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
