After leading the Green Bay Phoenix Women’s Basketball team to a 31-2 record and a trip to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament, the honors having been piling up for Senior Julie Wotja. Tuesday she may have earned her most prestigious honor yet.
Wotja was named a 2nd team All-American by the Associated Press. Wotja is the first Phoenix Woman to be named All-American since the program joined the Division 1 ranks in the 1987-1988 season.
Among her All-American status, Wotja has also been named the Horizon League Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She is also one of 12-finalist for the State Farm Wade Trophy which goes to the best Women’s College Basketball player in the United States.
