Brewers beat Giants, opening day is approaching

Yovani Gallardo outlasted Tim Lincecum in a matchup of opening day starters

as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Francisco Giants 7-4.

Gallardo worked 5 2/3 innings, allowing four runs and eight hits while walking one and striking out seven.

Gallardo will pitch the season opener against the St. Louis Cardinals at Miller Park.

Rickie Weeks had a pair of doubles and Ryan Braun lined a 2-run double down the line in left to give the Brewers a 5-4 lead. 

The Brewers improved to 14-14-2 in Cactus League play with the win.  They’ll face the White Sox today.
